New Year, New Me

Hello, It’s been a long while since I last blogged. So many things have happened since then, that I’m not sure where to start. Easiest way is to start from the beginning. In April 2016 I had surgery that took me out of work for almost a year i had to have my bone spur removed and since my tendon was damaged it had to be repaired. In August 2016 I started Culnary school. It has been a journey and I learned a lot.  January 2017 I moved back to Austin, Tx since it was easier for school and a lot cheaper in gas. May 2017 I started a new job at the Lake Austin Spa Resort on Steiner Ranch. Over the last year I have learned a lot from the Executive Chef Stephane Beaucamp. From the moment I went into the interview I could tell that I would except the job. Chef Beaucamp is a strong man. He is passionate about everything he does and cares a great deal about the types of dishes that come out of his kitchen. He is not just my boss, but he has become a friend. I don’t trust people easily or at all, but I do without a doubt trust him. He is an amazing dad and you can tell just how being a dad effects him just by looking into his eyes. There are no words that can describe how much he has impacted my life. Not just as a Chef, but in general as well. I’m not used to anyone actually believing in me and caring enough to help me be better than I was the day before. I really have grown since I started working at the resort. I love what I do. March 3, 2018 I walked the stage and officially graduated from Culinary School with an Associates Degree with honors. I’m excited for the future and the possibilities that come with it. I’m working on getting my catering business back up and running. Networking with other business women to create a network that we all can work together in. Women in business and empowering each other to succeed.

I really look forward to seeing where it all goes and taking my business to the next level. I’m ready to be a full time business owner. It’s been a great start to the year for me. I got to finally talk to my daughter again after almost a year and now I’m a graduate and upcoming business owner. I work With people that love what they do and i have an amazing boss and friend. I will start posting more regularly with my adventures in the culinary world I live in daily. From the fresh garden to the table. I look forward to sharing with you all the dishes i make with all the fresh herbs and veggies from the garden. Till next time, take care of you and always enjoy what you do.
